09:10 pm - Colour "IQ" thing ...
Probably not for dmw, alas : "Color IQ" test here

I got 19 on one computer, 8 on my laptop. I've spent zero effort on colour calibration on either screen ... ever. I'm surprised at how well I did, actually, I don't think of myself as having particularly good colour discrimination. Now I suspect it's more that I don't have good enough descriptive powers and vocabulary to make distinctions between all the colours that I perceive.

4 here, on an uncallibrated laptop. All four misses were adjacent to each other in the blue-green part of the spectrum.

3. All misses on the pinky bit. Red-haired prejudice on my part, no doubt. ;-)

That's the most fun I've had on LJ for ages. Capped by achieving a perfect (0) score, having made no changes to the colour spectrum on this monitor.

6. Surprisingly most of my problems were in the yellow-green section of the spectrum. Not something I would have expected.

23 (at work, I may or may not test at home). The colours tend to swim :( (although this is not confined to computer monitors)

I turned up the brightness on my work LCD first, but: score 0. So I have to look elsewhere to excuse my dress sense!

15, with my stuff-ups in blue-green. I think I was getting lazy.

Can I paint the walls teal and get a mauve couch now?

Woo! 0! Apparently I have perfect color vision. (Admittedly I have been image-manipulating for many years so have had to learn to differentiate hues simply to make sure I get the right one when blending, and the fact I did the test on my shiny monitor with a calibrated color profile installed probably helped. Not sure I'd get the same result on my laptop.)

Forgot to say that this was on ordinary unadjusted work PC, but I might have another go on my home machine later!
