|09:32 pm - Baby update ...|
World, meet ProbablyAlistair:
At 2 days (and a bit) old, he's so far been pretty relaxed and laid-back - to the point of dozing off in the middle of trying to feed. We're working on that :)
He's been bathed, visited, blood-sampled, and we're reasonably sure that he's now been mostly named (still working on a middle name :) ).
Mostly he spends his time sleeping, though, and looking adorable (see above).
rwrylsin is doing well too, resting lots and tending to ProbablyAlistair, with some help from me (I have to pop out to feed the cats (and myself) a couple of times a day, which is why I'm here posting this :) ). So far, all is going pretty well.
We should all be back home sometime on Tuesday, with the first visit from grandparents sometime on Tuesday as well (with four sets of grandparents scattered 160-800km away, it might be a while before they all get a turn !)
In the tradition of dalekboy's MaybeZoe :)

Hurrah for First Pic of ProbablyAlistair! I confess I was very curious about gender after the previous post.
Relaxed and sleeping baby sounds good. Should help to bring up relaxed and sleeping parents. Hope it continues once you're all home!
PS How about Alistair Zaphod? He's just this guy, you know?

Aw... congratulations again and welcome ProbablyAlistair! How much did he weigh?
He was 3.45kg (errr, 7lb 10, apparently), and 49cm. Apparently all quite average :)
Lovely picture and congratulations. It's great to hear all is well.
Andy insists he must be Alistair Gordon...(after the Brigadier)
Lovely picture! Here's hoping he looks that serene and laid-back all the time :)
Hello <Φ|Alistair|Ψ>! Welcome to a world!
[Just maybe not this one... <grin> ]
he's lovely - congratulations again!

He's a cute little chap :-) Nice name too
I was going to say, you realise you've done it with the ProbablyAlistair thing don't you.
Please let us know when visiting will be a happening thing. I know how rough the first few weeks are (especially if you've got grandparents visiting from far away places and staying with you!), and sometimes you want space and quiet, and sometimes you want distraction.
And he looks very much like fairly even measure of the both of you. Cheers.
Visiting could be a happening thing next week sometime - I'm off work for a few weeks, and so far no-one's staying here and things look reasonably quiet (that could all change, of course !). Anyway, whichever day works best for you (if you want to travel with or without kids, etc) should be fine, although maybe call before setting out just to see how things are going :)
Oh, he's beautiful!
Can't wait to meet him in person.
Let me know when visiting is an option.

Congratulations! Best feeling in the world, isn't it?
Welcome little 'un! Alistair is a great name.
Glad to hear you're all doing well.
