rwrylsin has been tinkering, and came up with some cute designs, one of which is now an icon.

Nothing otherwise exciting going on today, will probably see Hero later.

The Australian election defied my postal vote and Howard is back again. I'm now slightly glad that my Britishness has been confirmed (only slightly, 'cos ... well, Blair, you know).

You're kidding. I was hoping so hard he wouldn't get it again. Will there be a country left to go home to in 4 years time?

The Australian Public disappoints me.

Nice icon.

I briefly considered fleeing abroad - they haven't sealed the borders. Yet.

*sigh*

The nasty bit is that the balance of power in the Senate may be held by the Family First party -- a fundamentalist Christian party that has, amongst others, a stated policy of wanting to tax internet users in Australia to create a fund to prosecute "undesireable" internet sites and prevent their access in Australia. Considering that at least one of their candidates considers witches to be Evil (and buddhists and moslems as well), things might be getting interesting here.

What Would Cthulhu Do? [1]

Sometimes I wished we lived in a democracy.[2]

[1] Of course, the failure of the Elder Party {"Why vote for the Lesser Evil? Cthulhu for President!"} in recent elections is entirely the result of Cthulhu realizing that he may not be the Greater Evil after all...

[2] Since we have no say in the formation of the government (which is chosen in secret session by the party with the most representatives) I don't believe we are really a democracy.
