Bye-bye Safari. One crash with three windows and umpteen tabs open is one crash too many.
A sure sign that it's time to try out the OS X version of Firefox and install
life Session Saver.
(sambushell, does it frustrate you as much as it does me that CS research into persistence doesn't seem to have made much impact in the "real" world ?)
Current Mood: slightly grumpy.
The only crash I have had on my Mac since installing Mac Os X (v2.8) was because of Safari.
Hmm. I don't run Safari in tabbed mode and the only crashes I've experienced were from particular sites doing strange things. I have about 10-15 windows open because i've always been a windowed browser user, rather than a tabbed one.
I'm now running 10.3.9 and have had less than 5 safari crashes in the past 18 months.
Of course I also bookmark like a fiend.
Well, you know how most of your software leaks memory and other resources? Imagine if you couldn't clean that up even by restarting the computer.
... watch out, you'll trigger my "why is the software development industry so immature that memory leaks still exist ?" rant :-)
Heh. My short answer to that is probably that the industry won't develop maturity until Moore's law is over.
