|09:28 pm - Back ! Older ! Shiny things to play with ...|
We're back from our little trip up to Inverness and the Highland Open. Drove up on Saturday, fenced yesterday, drove back (with lengthy detour via Eilean Donan Castle and the west coast), and have just had dinner and opened birthday presents and our wedding anniversary present to ourselves. And I should be in bed in 10 minutes or so for my 6am start tomorrow, but that's not very likely ...
A book about mediaeval sword and shield combat, a DIY manual (oooh, scary), and Icewind Dale (the original).
 Robo Rally ! Whee !

Hadn't noticed you were off to Inverness. Visited a very pleasant restaurant in town there last year, on the south bank of the river. That's quite a drive just for a week-end! Glad to hear you had a good birthday.
Hmmmm. Robo Rally as a wedding anniversary gift. I suppose it's one way to settle disputes, provided, of course, you don't turn it into live action Robo-Rally (which is quite fun actually; although it was difficult to find a suitable cardboard box on a long weekend in Canberra).
Zoom ... Zap ... "Pit!" .... <AAAAAaaaaaaaaaargggghhh> <Pfffth>
How does the new version compare with the original (the maps looked a lot sparser.
It's been a while since I played the original, but the maps seems to be at a similar level of evil, mostly. And, it looks like if we do come across any of the original maps somewhere (cheaply, at least) they'll be compatible anyway ...

Happy birthday! (Belatedly!)
And for some reason I was really surprised that you did not already possess Robo Rally ...
Well, until now we've always prevailed on others to let us play with their set (hi, reverancepavane
), and then it was out of print and only available for stupid prices on eBay. But now it's mine ! Err, ours ! Bwahahahaa !
