09:32 pm - The weekend ...
I'm sure there's something wrong about getting up earlier on both days of a weekend than I usually do during the working week.
I took rwrylsin to Dunfermline for a fencing coaching course both days, and then got to wander around. Well, on Saturday it was grey and raining, so my "wandering" took me straight back home after I'd dropped her off, but yesterday was nicer, and I got some photos, after seeing random industrial areas, Castle Campbell, Saddle Hill (all the way to the top), and a deer (it ran away too quickly for a photo, though).

Have you gotten one of those season pass thingies, that let you into all the castles in the british isles? Or is it just for England?

We joined Historic Scotland, which gets us in free to all Historic Scotland properties. Now that we're second-year members, that also gets us free entry into English Heritage sites (was 50% discount for EH last year).
(Historic Scotland properties tend to be "romantic ruins", rather than the fully restored and interior decorated types that the National Trust for Scotland run ... but that's ok, we prefer the ruins :-) )
