Yay, snow !

Yup, 18 months in Scotland, and I still get excited when it snows. Today it's been falling since about 5ish, or at least that's how it looked when rwrylsin and I got out of the cinema from seeing the latest Harry Potter. It's been falling steadily since then and we have about 2-3cm over everything. So pretty and shiny and white ! And such a lovely crunchy noise it makes when walking across the fresh bits.
From the sounds of things, most of the UK is getting something out of this batch, too, which should be fun. Our roads all seem to have been thoroughly salted and gritted, of course, although they are starting to get a bit slushy in places - I imagine driving conditions will be quite hazardous in many places tomorrow. Still, we might brave it and see if we can find a pretty snow-covered castle to take photos of, before it "warms up" again (to 5-8°; only warm by comparison to the -4 to 0 range we've been in for the last few days).

Whee, snow !
