|08:39 am - Northness and Southitude|
In the following poll, I'm referring to places you've actually set foot on, rather than flying/driving/sailing over or past.
What is the furthest North you've been ?
Never been north of the Equator
55° - 66°N / Arctic Circle
Beyond the Arctic Circle (approx. 66° 33' N)
What is the furthest South you've been ?
Never been south of the Equator
55° - 66°S / Antarctic Circle
Beyond the Antarctic Circle (approx. 66° 33' S)
Current Mood: curious
I'm too tired to look it up, but I have been in Stockholm, Helsinki and Leningrad, I suspect one of those must be the most northerly I have been.
Northernmost point traveled: Thurso/Wick/Caithness, Scotland -- approx 59 north
Southernmost point traveled: Southern tip of Bruny Island, Tasmania -- approx 44 south

Yeah, the groupings seem a bit coarse to me...
(Tampere 61N, South east Cape/Cockle Creek 44S.)

There's precious little (ice-free) land south of 45S.
Bluff, 46.6S, Binz, 54ishN.
I'd have liked to see this quiz show *span* (northmost-southmost). Too lazy to work it out, though I guess it's in davidcook's poll results.
Furthest north is Aberdeen, 57° 9' N apparently. Furthest south is Orlando, Florida - about 28N.
Furthest north: Stockholm (roughly 59.33'24"N, 18.06'56"E)
Furthest south: Sydney (roughly 33.52'06" S, 151.12'31"E)
(Wikipedia for the city name, and then the co-ords are in the top right corner)

Just a bit north of Derry, Northern Ireland (55N), and the southernmost tip of NZ's south island(46S)

Furthest North - Santa Claus Village, just north of Rovaniemi (66o30N, 25o43E) and right slap bang on the artic circle. So either of the last two options there would be right, thinking about it - I have photos of me standing on the line marking the artic circle and all that. Dressed in traditional Lapp gear, too. Yeah, I'm a total tourist. :-)
Furthest South - probably Bruny Island (43o25S, 147o05E), Tasmania. I might have been further south, but that's the furthest I can definitely remember being.
Furthest north: Glasgow (55o 51')! :)
Furthest south: Hobart (42o 52')
And, fwiw, closest I've been to the equator is Singapore (1o 22')

My furthest points, given your criteria, are Glasgow (55° 51' N) and Invercargill (46° 25' S). I'm currently passing beyond the Arctic Circle. (... but at 9753m, so it doesn't count for your poll.)
