04:07 pm - The weather ...
Wow, what an incredibly foul day it is in Glasgow - just on 10°, pouring with rain (and some hail), and blowing a gale. And my train home from work terminated one station short, leaving me a 15 minute walk home. So why did I keep grinning and thinking how much fun it was ? Maybe it's because this is what winter is supposed to be like, a touch of the wild about it - or maybe I'm just a little odd.

Not so good when you're trekking to and from the Victoria Infirmary to see your sick mother and on the way there, your anorak hood is stubbornly too wide and acts as a funnel for the gale-driven rain, and on the way back, when you've figured out - after eight years - how the toggles on the hood work, it's so tight that your glasses steam up on the inside so that you can't see a thing.

Or is that just me?

I have heard tales of the mythic past where water is said to have fallen from the sky, but personally I am rather incredulous of this fact and don't believe it for a moment. [1] Next you'll be saying the white-stuff on the top of those very tall hills is actually frozen water, and not salt, as every right=-minded individual is cognicent of.

[1] contrary to the evidence outside at the moment, one must admit.
