08:44 am - New toy ...
On Friday at around 12 I ordered a new lens - Pentax 16-50mm/2.8 (plus the usual alphabet soup of acronyms). On Monday around 9, it arrived. Apparently Equipment Express lived up to their name.

Meanwhile, it's shiny ! (well, it's matt black, but you know what I mean)
Photos to follow once I find sunshine and some time to take some ...

Ooh, shiny! And I like your icon, too :-)

(I use an Olympus OM-2n, by the way).

Funnily enough, I got a Canon EF 17-40 f/4 L at the weekend (as per this example.)

If you don't mind my asking, what body are you using? I have a fondness for Pentax, and was considering investing in a K20D (especially as I gather I can still use my old K-mount primes), but I keep getting scared of spending the money. :)

I have the *ist DS2 - about the last of the "*ist" line (thankfully - try Googling "*ist" ! ). You should be able to use your old lenses, although you may need to fiddle with the camera settings to allow it - it should be fairly easy to find a Pentax forum post where someone's asked about it, it's FAQish :)

... I have to admit, the shake reduction and SDM[1] are quite tempting, but I might hold off for a bit and see if they come out with a K1 in the next year or so.
