I just watched some of the BBC Olympic coverage. Did no-one at the BBC think that perhaps, what with the games being held in China, and likely to feature more than the usual number of Chinese athletes, that it might be a good idea to teach their presenters how to pronounce Chinese ? Or at least not to embarassingly totally mangle it (in different ways each time, no less !?). In 30 minutes of listening they managled "Shi" in two different ways, got Liu Xiang's name very wrong, and failed at "Ji". Sheesh !
