Tuesday & Wednesday ...

On Tuesday we went for a "little" walk - up to the Royal Mile, browsing at various (mostly tourist-oriented) shops along the way. We stopped to take some photos near the front gate of the Castle, then went for a walk right around it - it's very impressive to be walking under looming black rocks with a looming castle wall on top of it.

Yesterday we went for another "little" walk - this time to the top of Arthur's Seat, and various other parts of Holyrood Park. Very impressive, with amazing views out across Edinburgh (I took a bunch of photos, of course). After that we took a tour through Holyrood Palace (oooh), and I took a bunch of photos of the ruined abbey that the Palace was built onto (very impressive, the first abbey on the site was built sometime in the 12th century, although it's been rebuilt and built onto a number of times since then ... ).

Today, back in town, and doing random wandering and shopping. Wheeee !
