 | 08:47 pm - In the playground ... Walking to the supermarket recently, the first line of a billboard poster read "DARE YOU SEE SAW". My first thought was something like "Well, it's all swings and roundabouts to me", before eventually realising that it was an ad for a movie. Current Mood: amused

Last year, was eating out with some fellow English-speaking Soul Calibur II players at a restaurant near the arcade. Still unfamiliar with what various Japanese foods and herbs were, I asked one of the other guys, a long term resident, what 'shiso' (紫蘇)was. He himself wasn't really sure, and so asked a waiter (in Japanese). His pronunciation though isn't exactly native level, and the waiter bemusedly replied that it was a piece of playground equipment, wasn't it?
*grin* (oooh, you updated. I'm stunned ... keep up the good work :) (say, do you have a KGS account, and want to play a random game of Go sometime ? Tokyo time is close to Adelaide time, and I sometimes see alexwinolj on KGS ... ) |
