SimMelbourne

Living in Melbourne, and working on the 21st floor of a CBD office building, often gives me the feeling that I'm in a SimCity game - particularly compared to Adelaide, the rate of construction and "progress" is very visible. From here, I can see at least 10 construction sites which are working on buildings over 20 storeys, and there are a number I can't see behind other buildings as well.

This effect extends to the suburbs, there probably isn't a street around that doesn't have a house or block of flats/units/apartments/townhouses being built, or at the very least, undergoing major extension and renovation work.

I find it impressive, in a way which I can't easily define (maybe a hangover from playing construction worker as a child ? Too much Lego building ? Who knows).
