07:23 pm - And this is what my LJ orchestra looks like ...
So, here's the composition of my LJ orchestra (from this poll ) :
(this does assume that we can clone people to play all of the instruments they listed :-) )

Strings :
4 Violins
3 Violas

Wind section :
5 Flutes
8 Recorders
3 Clarinets
1 Bass Clarinet
2 Saxophones

Brass :
1 Trumpet
1 Tuba

Choir :
3 Voices

Percussion / other :
1 Drummer
7 Pianos
2 Guitars
1 Steel pans

Well, that's almost as bad as the proportions of the high school band we had. At its peak, there were 10-14 flutes, up to 10 clarinets, and one or two lonely-looking violinists and maybe a cello. We did have a good range of brass (trumpets, trombones, french horns), and a decent percussion section (drummer, marimba, xylophone). I was one of the flute section, trying not to stand out too much (difficult, being male (most were female), tall (most weren't), and sometimes playing piccolo).

(one day, I'll buy myself a shiny new flute and have a nice quiet place to practice (where no-one can hear me !) and get back in to it. And an alto flute, because they sound nice. And maybe a bass flute, because they're unusual. And a piccolo, just to complete the set. And maybe a nice baroque or renaissance flute, so I can join in with any mediaeval groups around. </dreaming> )
Current Mood: happyMusical.

(En garde !)
